New direction
The scope of this game is getting out of hand. The textures aren't what I envisioned and the 2D NPCS feel out of place. The melee combat feels lifeless. The attacks work on enemies but it's not great. I'm not putting it out there in its current state. Plus the video memory is spiking beyond the capabilities of most g3s even with everything cut down to its lowest resolution. The map is too big and the fog and far clip camera plane is not going to save it. I should have stuck to something more simple. But I've already gone this far and I'm not abandoning it.
In short the game is staying but I'll work on some simple raycasting and try bring the combat up to where it should be. The map will remain unchanged aside from the NPCS whom I may just remove entirely and just go for a more open world FPS. I've reimported the textures so it's looking pretty again. I'll definitely do another maze crawler game like Dimsheller Maze already have a solid concept of subterranean realms below the Gloomvale so that will hopefully be something for PPC machines to look forward too. As I already have my scripts written and some textures ready to go. I'll sort the enemy animations first and get this game up to scratch.
I apologise but in reality only 2 G3 users got back to me in over a month in regards to hardware tests. Dronecatcher your post on mac rumours really helped aswell. Many thanks.
I'd say I'm probably about 60 percent complete in terms of where it's at another 10 or so hours on it should have it on the home straight. 10 hours spare is hard to come by at the moment but I'll still upload it as a novelty even if the scripting doesn't work out. The maps really cool there's some awesome little areas to explore. It also all ties in story wise with the maze crawler games.
Thanks guys
