Influences behind the game

It gets to over 45 degrees Celsius in summer where I live in Australia. Being a metal roofer during this is shite. It's hell up there some days.  I think the most I recall drinking on a hot day is about 16 litres in 11 hours. Water that is not beer. Although after a day like that 1 or 2 beers will knock you for six.

Although in winter it is frequently below 0 degrees Celsius of a morning. We don't get snow where I am but thick fog and heavy frosts are common. Being a huge black metal fan I tend to learn towards preferring the grim and frostbitten side of things. I rather be cold than sunburnt and exhausted from heat.  It's winter here now and it's been a cold one!! Fair bit of rain too.

Earworms during the creation of Wintercoffin were.

Sacrementum, Dissection, Vinterland, Darkthrone (early), Stormkeep and Immortal.

The title of the game was actually taken from an Immortal lyric from the album pure holocaust. I forget which track though!

I'll also add that Wintercoffin uses all recycled code from Caverns of Underwood. I already had the code and soundtrack ready to go so I was able to develop the game fairly quickly. I even reused some blender models  several times now. Yes mushrooms are everywhere it seems! All in all I'm happy with how it turned out.

Hope you all have enjoyed the game so far!

Cheers

BTW you can join my Discord if you want to kibitz on my various Godot WIP projects. https://discord.gg/dDurKPZz

I have no idea what Kibitz is. I'm assuming Godot is an engine? I'll join anyway. You have always taken an interest in my stuff. I'd be happy to help you.

Kibitz is just slang for running commentary :)

Hopefully you manage to remain a bit cheerier in person than your tastes in game themes and music :) :) :)
