Bane Of Oakenshade
A downloadable game for Windows
Using Sword Of Moonlight game engine.
I highly recommend a GAMEPAD. The default game engine controls can be quite awkward to use. 1024x768 is the preferred resolution as anything higher results in clipping and graphical drop outs on screen edges.
Enter a dark world filled with mystery and evil. Slow paced first person dungeon crawling with multiple spells, weapons, armour and plenty of lore to indulge in if desired. Large maps encouraging exploration. 9 areas to explore and featuring 10 dark ambient soundtracks.
Differences from Kings Field
There's no health herbs. Mana and Healing is primarily potion based. There are other ways though...
You can save in the Menu. Probably a controversial decision that one but I have my reasons for doing so.
There is an equipment weight limit. This prevents buffing with all the top gear. So choose wisely. Heavier swords take longer to regain stamina and weigh more. This also applies to armour. Build strength by grinding.
There are no gradients. The ground is flat.
You start with no weapons so you better find some!

I appreciate saving in menu, these games are often frustrating enough without save restrictions. Will grab the game once I finish Lunacid :)
Yes I decided to add it due to the frustration of having to backtrack. From personal experience I have young kids so if one wake up in the night I can save it and turn it off. Pick up where I left off. That was one of the reasons just convenience really.
